![]() Of course when this does debut do expect Karen Boop to be vocal about it and entertained, hopefully she’s not part of it, we don’t want to see the musical ruined. As people are aware, they no longer in the animated Betty Boop features hire legit Brooklyn talent to voice Betty Boop, but instead they have “ Karen Boop” do the voice. So Betty Boop back then unlike today was actual New York talent. Max Fleischer was from Brooklyn, and the original voices of Betty Boop were all from different parts of New York, like Long Island and The Bronx in New York City. As people are aware, Betty Boop is a native New Yorker. The best thing about this musical from what I read is they are actually seeking New York talent. You know actual “Boop-Boop-Be-Doop” songs!? But keep in mind this Broadway version of Betty is a new incarnation. Like “Do Something,” “I Wanna Be Loved By You,” “Don’t Take My Boop-Boop-Be-Doop Away,” “Ain’tcha” and so on. The only problem I have with the music, is that they are not incorporating any actual “Betty Boop” theme songs associated with the character. Of course some songs will probably be removed or changed. The songs listed are as follows, “Always,” “Say You Remember It,” “Something to Shout About,” and “A Little Versatility” as well. And they payment for the successful applicants is $1,300 a week minimum per Tier III Equity Development Agreement. ![]() ![]() They held the work session from the 16th of May to the 3rd of June in New York City. As of 2022 the Tara Rubin Casting held auditions. So earlier information released is probably no longer relevant. It seems the Broadway musical has been developed and changed. Originally Jason Robert Brown was working on the musical in 2002, then Andrew Lippa, Andrew Faber and Robin Goodman in 2004, but all of the latter were fired. This show has been in development since the early 2000s. I didn’t bother to cover it, or put out any information regarding it because the Broadway musical by David Foster is kind of on and off. The casting call for the Betty Boop Musical featuring cartoon character Betty Boop was earlier this year.
